Lisa met Brian on the side of the road when she was 17 years old. She was on her way to a wake board party at a private residence on a lake. She was with a group of girl friends and they were lost. She sees this red Camaro full of guys barreling down the road and tells her friends, “I bet they are going to the party, too.” So they flagged them down and sure enough these guys were headed to the wake board party. So the girls got back in their car and follow the boys to the party. Like any great fairy tale there has to be some conflict before we get to the end of the tale. For Lisa and Brian it started with their initial feelings for each other. They did not hit it off at all. She thought he was snobby. He thought she was young. He was preppy she was a bit punk. (Ask her if you want to know more about what the entails, stud belts and so on.) After this first meeting their paths started crossing. They would date for a few weeks then stop dating. Lisa met and fell for (gasp!) another man. She got engaged and started planning her wedding, only to break it off weeks before. She was mending a wounded heart and found her self gravitating back to her preppy on again off again Brain.
Brian moved to Washington DC about 3 years after Lisa met him. He and his roommate planned to fly their girls out for the weekend. He bought Lisa a plane ticket and booked her place to stay. The night before she was to fly out she called him up and told him, “Cough cough, I am sick cough. I can’t come.” He was so mad he vowed then and there to never speak to her again! About 6 months later Brian moved back to Arizona. Lisa brother ran into him at a party. He told Brian to give his sister a call. Brian told him, “She can call me if she wants to talk to me.” So she did. She called an apologized to him. It was a month after that before they went out again. Lisa and Brian dated off and on for those 4 years. When Brian first told her he loved her it went a little something like this: Brian, “I think I am falling in love with you.” (awwww) Lisa, “Be careful.” (she was scared.) Lisa and Brain were dating again and having a good time. She realized one day that through everything she kept going back to him.
One day they were in Fountain Hills walking by the fountain when Brian asked, “what if you fell in?” Then he pretended like he was going to push her into the fountain and they lost their balance and both of them fell in. In what seemed like a millisecond after falling in Lisa looked at Brian and he held up an engagement ring that must have just been waiting box free in his pocket and said, “Be my wife.” He had gotten down on one knee still. She couldn’t see that. She thought he fell more. The water was up to his chin and he was holding the right up out of the water. Lisa was over come with love and laughter. She replied, “Sure!” The were married in the Mesa Temple. They have been happily married for 3 ½ years!
